Gaming Safety & Toxic Online Communities 

This workshop explores the challenges of gaming safety and toxic online communities. It combines different types of activities and will enable participants to develop a deeper understanding of cyber-violence, harassment, discrimination and other forms of harmful behaviour that can occur in online gaming environments.

Participants will learn how to recognise toxic behaviour, explore its impact on individuals and communities, and practise effective strategies for responding safely and constructively. They will also work together to identify ways of creating respectful, inclusive and welcoming gaming spaces that allow diversity and encourage positive digital citizenship. The reflection, evaluation and promise of practical commitments at the end of the workshop enable participants to transfer their learning into everyday online interactions.
